Vision

Develop human resources capable of fighting malnutrition in the countries of the East African Community.

Global Objective

To strengthen nutritional security and contribute to human capital development and economic growth in Burundi in particular, and in the East African Community region in general, through improved access to high-level training and quality research in nutrition sciences.

Missions

• To ensure, in collaboration with the Ministries responsible for health, regional leadership in high-level training and research in nutrition sciences.
• To provide continuing education in nutrition sciences.
• To ensure quality regional management of nutrition-related diseases.
• To establish a mechanism for coordinating nutrition research within member countries.
• To ensure the publication and dissemination of nutrition research results as well as good practices.
• To collaborate with other national and international health training and research institutions.
• To provide Master's and PhD training in Nutrition Sciences, preferably in English.
